Are you planning on going to college after high school or pursuing acting full time?
I would really love to go to college after high school. I think it’d be great to go to a peforming arts school in Los Angeles. It’s a little tricky to be in college if you already have an agent and a manager because if you book a role, you will most likely have to drop out.
I’m just kind of taking it one year at a time.
Any tips for beginning actors?
Audition for as many projects as you can! Short films, feature films, independent films, local commercials, anything! Just get your face out there! I wrote a blog about it a while ago. Click on the link below:

I get stage fright. How do you control your fears if you have any?
I still get very nervous before a big audition. Casting directors know that your nervous and they understand how hard it is. Just keep that in mind.
Relax before you go into an audition. Listen to music or do whatever calms you down. Go over your lines a few times, but not too many. If you practice too much it won’t seem as natural and fresh.
Keep an open mind to suggestions/notes that the casting director gives you, if any.
Remind yourself that the audition is not life or death. You will go on with life even if you mess up or don’t book the role. Tell yourself that the audition is optional and you will have more opportunities in the future.
How do you have time to prepare for all these auditions?
That’s a good question, hah! I don’t know! I guess it just kind of comes naturally to me. When my manager or agent emails me a script, I read it and go over the sides (audition scenes). I figure out who the character really is. I create a back-story for them. I ask myself “Where has this character been?” “Where are they going?” “How would I feel in this situation?” Things like that really help me prepare for a role and get into the character’s mind set.
Since you live in Ohio, did you find an agent there, or go to LA/call around LA?
I booked a role through Actors Access in 2010 and the producer of that movie introduced me to my current manager. Then my manager introduced me to my current agent :) This is why I stress the importance of making connections with casting directors and producers. You never know how much they will change your career in the future! Even if you don’t book one role, they can remember you for a different one later on.
How did you get into acting?
I started off in a lot of community theater. I loved to sing and dance and perform in front of my family. They always said I was a goof-ball. My Mom signed me up for some drama camps when I was younger and I realized that I really loved being on stage. I thought that memorizing lines was so fun and I loved to wear all of the theatrical costumes. Pretty soon I started booking lead roles in local shows and people told me that I had talent. I never dreamed that I would end up anywhere in the film business. I just loved acting and wanted to do it for the rest of my life. Life took its course and led me to where I am today :)
